Here’s how Robert M. Parker Jr. described the 2007 Saxum James Berry Vineyard Proprietary Red, which he rated at 100 pts: “Full-bodied with not a hard edge to be found, it is stunningly concentrated with unreal purity, a voluptuous texture, and remarkable freshness for a wine of such power, depth, and concentration.” It’s one of the many world gems offered in this eclectic collection. From California there are fine wines from Aubert, such as the 2007 Aubert UV Pinot Noir, Wine Spectator 96 pts, as well as Cabs such as 2006 Colgin IX Estate, Parker 100 pts. Bordeaux include 2000 Calon-Segur, Parker 94 pts, in 1.5ltr, and 2000 Lynch-Bages, WS 96 pts. There are fine Rieslings from J.J. Christoffel and Shiraz such as 2004 Mitolo G.A.M., which Parker rated at 97 pts and noted for its “gorgeous perfume of blueberries, camphor, licorice and pain grille.”

Robert M. Parker Jr. has called Moraga Bel Air “one of the most distinctive little treasures in California. A tiny, 9.5 acre vineyard (5 of Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc) (that) is planted on some of California’s most expensive real estate” in the Bel Air hills just outside of Los Angeles. Founded in 1978, the winery produced its first commercial vintage in 1989, and Parker noted that the winery specializes in “serious wines made with a French orientation.” In this collection we offer rare early Moraga Bel Air vintages of red and white, including some in large format. Also here is a 10-bottle 10th Anniversary Limited Edition Vertical from 1990-1999. Also offered are other choice California Cabs, such as 3-bottle lots of 2003 Harlan and 2004 Harlan The Maiden, as well as 1992 Screaming Eagle, Parker 96 pts. Included too are several terrific Bordeaux and Vintage Champagnes, such as 1985 Lynch-Bages, Wine Spectator 95 pts, and 1990 Moet et Chandon Dom Perignon, Parker 96 pts.
