At WineBid.com we offer everything from aged, first-growth Bordeaux to classic California
Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as Bordeaux and Burgundy futures. The wines we select for our auctions are rare,
highly rated wines often produced in limited quantities. Many, because of their age or scarcity, are
unavailable even at better wine shops. We inspect every bottle to ensure that you get a high quality
product. Our selection changes every week. We offer more than 4,000 lots of wine per auction.
We offer single bottles and case lots. We offer a range of fine wines from $20 a bottle to more
than $2,000. At WineBid.com we've made it as easy as possible to find your favorites.
Search Tips
In the Search Box, type a word or a few words that refer to the wine you want. The more
specifically you describe what you want, the more specific will be the results. For example,
if you type Bordeaux, you'll get hundreds of Bordeaux, including Margaux. If you type Margaux,
you'll get only Margaux. The Search Box is not case sensitive, so you can use capital or
lower-case letters. But words must be spelled correctly.
To make your search more efficient, use these techniques:
-
Quotation marks
Use quotation marks to search for words in an exact order.
Example: "silver oak alexander valley"
This will result only in Silver Oak wines from Alexander Valley.
-
Minus Sign
Use the minus sign to exclude specific words from the search.
Example: "Turley Aida Vineyard" –zinfandel
This will result in Turley wines from Aida Vineyard that are not Zinfandel. Please note that you must
leave a space before the minus sign. But do not leave a space after the minus sign.
-
Parentheses and commas
Used together they mean that all variables within the parentheses will be included in the search.
Example: (1982, 1986, 1990) Margaux
This will result in Margaux from 1982, 1986 or 1990.
Example: Pinot Noir (Oregon, Burgundy)
This will result in Pinot Noir from either Oregon or Burgundy.
Browsing for Wine
You can also find wines by appellation, vintage, bottle size, price, type, rating and the other
criteria listed at the left under "Browse for Wine." If you're looking for wines from New Zealand,
for example, click on New Zealand. You will get a page listing different wine-producing areas within
New Zealand. Click to find wines from those regions.
You can also find wines by browsing through the Spotlights and Premier Collections
described on our Home Page. Click on either the text or the photo of any Spotlight or
Premier Collection for a complete list of the wines offered.
A note about bottle photos: Please note that if a lot description of a bottle
includes a photo, the photo is not necessarily a photo of the bottle in that lot. If
the bottle is described as “in excellent general condition,” the photo may be a WineBid.com
stock photo of a bottle of the specified wine and vintage, though not the exact bottle
offered. Stock photos may be used for bottles that are in “excellent general condition”
but have lightly depressed corks, lightly elevated corks, lightly scuffed capsules,
lightly depressed capsules, lightly wrinkled capsules, lightly worn capsules, lightly
scuffed labels, lightly nicked labels and lightly worn labels.
Sorting your Search Results
Once you have a list of lot descriptions, you can sort them by vintage, rating, price and the
other criteria listed across the upper right hand side of the page. Click "vintage," for instance,
to sort the wines by ascending or descending vintages.
You may also choose the degree of detail you wish to have displayed in your lot descriptions by
clicking on the drop-down next to Display. Your choices range from very minimal lot descriptions
to descriptions with photos, reviews, provenance and lot condition.
One Click Bidding
To save you time, our MultiBid View function allows you to
bid on multiple lots with just one click. Once you have a Search Results Page,
choose the MultiBid view from the drop-down box. Click in the small Bid box
next to each lot on which you wish to bid and enter your bid amount. Then, click
on Place Bids/Track Lots at the lower left side of the page to place a bid on all
the lots you have selected.
