Tax and Currency Information

All WineBid.com auctions are conducted in US Dollars. Buyers' credit cards will be charged in US Dollars for the hammer price, buyer's premium, insurance, applicable taxes and shipping cost. If you do not live in the US, the actual amount to be paid in your home currency will be determined by the exchange rate used by your credit card company when you are actually charged.

Consignor settlements will be in US Dollars unless other arrangements are made at the time of consignment.

US Sales and Use Tax

State Tax Rate
California 7.25-7.75%
Illinois 7.5%
New Hampshire 8.0%
New Jersey 7.0%
Washington 9.0%
Wyoming 12.0%

WineBid.com will collect state sales tax on shipments made to any state where WineBid.com is obligated to collect sales and/or use tax. This includes shipments that are picked up at one of our facilities or sent to a storage facility in a state where we are obligated to collect the tax (CA, IL, NH, NJ, WA and WY). Tax is calculated as a percentage of the entire price paid, including the hammer price, the buyer's premium, and any charges made for packing, handling or insurance.

Duties and Customs Charges

Buyers are responsible for all duties and customs charges incurred in shipping purchases from the location where the wine is stored to the requested shipping address. To the extent that WineBid.com provides estimates of shipping, customs and duty charges, these should be treated as estimates only. The Buyer is responsible for the actual charges incurred.

Please email Customer Service, info@winebid.com, if you have any other questions about tax or currency.
