WineBid.com® offers 2003 Bordeaux futures during online auction.

Napa California: WineBid.com, the premier Internet auction for fine and rare wines, is offering a collection of vertical releases from some of California’s most prestigious wineries. This collection comes from Northern California. The cellar goes on auction May 30 – June 13 at www.winebid.com

WineBid.com is auctioning the terrific 2003 Bordeaux you’ve read about. In his just published barrel tasting report Robert M. Parker Jr. noted that “there are some profoundly great wines” in the 2003 Bordeaux vintage. He went on to write: “There is no question that there will be considerable world-wide demand for the greatest wines of 2003. The fact that it is not a consistent vintage will mean that virtually all of the serious money will be clamoring for the top twenty-five or so wines....I have no reservations about telling readers that if you don’t jump in and buy them quickly, you will pay an even dearer price when they show up in the bottle.

Wine Spectator’s report on the 2003 Bordeaux rated nearly two dozen red Bordeaux at 95-100 pts, or potentially “classic.” That’s almost as many top scores as Wine Spectator awarded to red Bordeaux from the outstanding 2000 vintage.

“Purchasing en primeur is one of the few ways to acquire these highly sought-after Bordeaux wines, especially at locked-in prices,” said Jerry Zech, WineBid.com CEO. “We’re pleased to offer First Growth 2003s as well as fine wines from other Bordeaux classifications,” Zech said. Among the 2003 Bordeaux offered en primeur, or on a futures basis, are Haut-Brion, Lafite-Rothschild, Latour, Margaux and Mouton-Rothschild. All received between 95 and 100 point scores from Robert M. Parker Jr., and all will be ready for delivery in late 2006.

Founded in 1996, WineBid.com is the largest online auction for rare and fine wines with more than 30,000 registered bidders. At WineBid.com each bottle of wine consigned is appraised and inspected.
