RATINGS

94-96The Wine Advocate

The palate is well balanced with fine tannin, crisp and taut with beautiful black, mineral-rich fruit toward the precise finish.

94-97Stephen Tanzer

Densely packed and extremely intense, with its youthfully medicinal dark berry, dark chocolate and saline mineral flavors only hinting at the complexity to come. Boasts grand cru volume and breadth...

93-95Burghound.com

...flavors possess a bit more minerality as well with excellent muscle and power on the driving and wonderfully long finish...

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Nuits Villages, Vosne-Romanee, Aux Malconsorts

Aux Malconsorts is an 14.6-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Vosne-Romanee appellation of Burgundy’s Cote de Nuits. It is on the appellation’s southern boundary with Nuits-Saints-Georges. The vineyard abuts La Tache, which is just to the north and has similar soil composition. Burgundy writer Clive Coates notes that Aux Malconsorts “can have flair, fat, finesse and a fine perfume.”

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
